COVID19

Letter from Mark

Dear Friends,

Once again let me say thank you so much for your prayer, your love, and your support as we respond to the coronavirus pandemic. Our top priority remains your health and safety.

This week our National and State Governments have announced further important changes to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus. These included an immediate ban on places of worship and religious gatherings [indoor and outdoor].

We have made the following changes to support these important government decisions.

WE WILL MAINTAIN AN ONLINE WEEKLY WORSHIP EXPERIENCE FOR YOU

To help you maintain a weekly habit of worship, each Sunday we are streaming an online ‘loungeroom’ style service which will provide a biblical message, the latest news, questions for group discussion and personal reflection, and some worship songs. We will also provide an online Kids Ministry resource. These will be available from 9am on Sundays on our facebook page. We are also working on an online Youth resource to be available this week. Symon, our Youth and Young Adults Pastor, will be in touch or you can email Symon at symon@churchone2one.org.au.

WE ARE ENCOURAGING EVERYONE TO BE PART OF A SMALL GROUP

Our small groups will continue to be the backbone of our church through this challenging time. Please note, however, that we are requesting that small groups don’t meet in person during this time. Instead we request groups to meet online and to use social media, phones and email to stay connected with each other each week. Please find creative ways for prayer for each other, to care for each other and to share with each other. If you aren’t already connected with a small group please contact Erin on 5334 1882 or at erin@churchone2one.org.au.

WE HAVE CANCELLED OUR REGULAR SUNDAY SERVICES [9AM; 10:30AM; 6PM]

As I announced last week, we have cancelled our Sunday worship services effective immediately. There will not be any worship services this Sunday 29th March  [9am, 10:30am and 6pm]. Nor will we have any more outdoor prayer services. There will not be any worship services until further notice.

WE HAVE CANCELLED OUR THRIVE YOUTH MINISTRY AND MOPS PROGRAM

We have cancelled our Thrive Youth Ministry and our MOPS program until further notice.

WE ARE MOVING OUR CHURCH OFFICE OFF-SITE

We are closing our church office and moving off-site from today. We are encouraging staff to work from home, to use online and social media resources for communication, and to only use the church office if essential. Staff will still be very available by phone or email or social media. You can still contact us directly on the church phone number – 5334 1882.

WILL YOU PLEASE HELP US?

PLEASE HELP US COMMUNICATE WITH YOU

You can help us communicate with you by taking the following steps.

  • Please subscribe to our electronic email newsletter. Go to our webpage, scroll to the bottom of the home page, when you see ‘Sign Up To Our Newsletter’ – insert your email address.
  • Please follow us on Facebook. Open Facebook, search for one2one Church and click on ‘Follow’.

PLEASE HELP US CARE FOR EACH OTHER

Please keep us informed of any pastoral concerns in your life during this challenging time so that we can be praying for you. Sadly, the current restrictions mean that we are only able to do pastoral visits in essential or emergency situations. However, we are deeply committed to continuing to provide outstanding pastoral care for everyone. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Also, please let us know if this situation is causing you distress. Our Pastors [Mark, Erin, Symon, Kevin and Cathy] are all available to listen to your concerns and pray for you. Sandra Holloway will be coordinating our pastoral care. Please contact Sandra on 5334 1882 or at sandra@churchone2one.org.au.

PLEASE HELP US THROUGH YOUR PRAYERS

So then, let’s continue to pray. While this is an anxious time for many, it is also an opportunity for us to be a prayerful and peaceful presence here in Ballarat. Let’s be encouraged by God’s ‘very great and precious promises’, including this promise from the Bible:

Don’t be anxious about these things, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let’s present our requests to God. And then the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will help keep our hearts and minds focused on Christ Jesus. [Philippians 4:6-7]

Please be assured of my prayers for you.

Letter from Mark

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your prayer, your love, and your support as we respond to the coronavirus pandemic. Our top priority is your health and safety. We are monitoring the situation carefully and are committed to following official government decisions and any addition expert advice provided by our denomination. We will continue to keep you informed of the latest information.

Last week our government indefinitely banned all non-essential gatherings for 500 or more people. This week they have announced a further indefinite ban on all indoor gatherings of 100 or more people. Our response to these important decisions is outlined for you below.

  1. WE ARE SHIFTING TO ONLINE AND SOCIAL MEDIA RESOURCES

We are excited by the possibility of using online and social media resources to reach more people, renew more lives and release more ministry during this season when opportunities to gather in larger groups are limited. We will be exploring ways to resource individuals and small groups and provide quality pastoral care. We will continue to keep you updated.

  1. WE HAVE CANCELLED OUR REGULAR SUNDAY SERVICES [9AM; 10:30AM; 6PM]

We have cancelled our Sunday worship services effective immediately and until further notice. There will not be any worship services this Sunday 22nd March [9am, 10:30am and 6pm]. We will keep you informed of any developments. We will provide online and social media alternatives from this Sunday. Stay tuned to our Facebook page.

  1. WE ARE HOLDING AN OUTDOOR PRAYER SERVICE – THIS SUNDAY

We will be holding an outdoor prayer service at 10:30am this Sunday 22nd at our church property – 121 Gillies St. South, Ballarat – to pray for our world, our nation, our city and our family and friends. Our prayers are important: God encourages us that, when we face a natural disaster like thecoronavirus pandemic, we should pray.

‘If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their sin, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’ [2 Chronicles 7:14]

  1. OUR THRIVE YOUTH MINISTRYWILL CONTINUE

Our fantastic Friday night youth ministry will continue for the next two Firday nights. Unfortunately we won’t be able to provide a meal, so youth will start at 6pm. This week is a Survivor Night [March 20th] and next week is Easter Games and Worship [March 27th].

  1. OUR SMALL GROUPS WILL CONTINUE

We believe that our small groups will be the backbone of our church through this challenging time. They provide us with wonderful opportunities for prayer for each other, to care for each other and to share with each other. We will be resourcing our small groups and ministry teams to stay strong while protecting those involved. They may meet in person or use online, social media or phone contact at the discretion of the group. We encourage everyone to be connected with one of our small groups or ministry teams. If you aren’t already connected with a small group please let us know by phone, email or on our website at https://www.churchone2one.org.au/connect.

  1. PLEASE HELP US COMMUNICATE WITH YOU

Communication is also important. You can help us communicate with you by taking the following steps.
